Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing routine administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing, and maintaining paper and electronic files, or providing information to callers.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate team members
Greet visitors or callers and handle their inquiries or direct them to the appropriate persons according to their needs while adhering to necessary security policies concerning facility access
Create, maintain, and enter information into databases
Order and dispense supplies according to expense policy requirements
Prepare learning or event materials, such as flyers or invitations
Perform payroll functions, such as maintaining timekeeping information and processing, and submitting payroll
Arrange conference, meeting, or travel reservations for team members
Coordinate and facilitate professional development and learning opportunities for plant staff and the Division as needed
Participate in new hire recruitment and onboarding to include badge creation and other duties as needed
Electronically file necessary training and personnel documents related to employment
Serve as a backup payroll administrator and data entry specialist for other locations as needed
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High-Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education required: | Bachelor’s degree in business,communication or relevant field preferred |
Experience: | Previous experience processing payroll for a large population preferred Manufacturing exposure preferred but not required |
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: | Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills Basic knowledge and use of hand tools Sound decision making skills Good math, reading, and writing skills Demonstrated aptitude with office equipment Strong trouble shooting skills Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention Ability to work well in a team environment

The employee may be subject to:
Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection)
Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis.
Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions
Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
