Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on Aerospace Quality Team Leader to drive station-level quality performance within aircraft component and subassembly manufacturing operations in Kinston, NC.
This role is designed for a field-oriented leader who can both manage, support, and actively contribute on the shop floor. You will act as a key link between quality, production, and engineering, ensuring high standards while fostering a strong quality culture within the team.
Beyond inspection, you will play a critical role in coaching teams, coordinating activities, and driving continuous improvement, while remaining operational and close to production.
This position is non-certifying and does not include sign-off authority under Part 145.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate quality activities at station level, ensuring alignment with production objectives
- Act as the primary quality leader on the shop floor, supporting and guiding inspectors and operators in real time
- Perform in-process and final inspections (visual, dimensional, functional) as needed
- Coach and mentor team members to reinforce quality standards and best practices
- Ensure compliance with drawings, work instructions, and aerospace quality requirements
- Identify, document, and follow up on non-conformities; support root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Monitor quality performance, anticipate risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and methods to resolve issues efficiently
- Promote and enforce safety standards (PPE, FOD, etc.)
- Contribute to building a strong quality culture and team accountability on the shop floor
