Position Summary

Job Title: Machinist

Location: Coventry

Hours: Hours: Mon – Thurs, (07:00 – 15:30), Fri (07:00 – 12:30)

Duration: Permanent

The Role:

This is an opportunity to join a busy manufacturing team producing carbon brake discs for the aerospace sector. The role involves working in a fast-paced machine shop environment with a strong focus on quality, output, and teamwork.

An experienced CNC Setter/Operator who is comfortable working in a high-volume environment and is open to developing additional skills, such as TIG welding, this role would suit you! 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role: 

• Setting and operating CNC and conventional machines 

• Working across: 

  • Conventional 1-spindle turning machines (CNC controlled) 

  • 3-axis CNC milling machines 

  • 4-axis CNC milling machines 

• Ensuring parts meet engineering drawings and specifications 

• Using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and plug gauges

• Basic assembly work when required (e.g. rivets and clips) 

• Maintaining quality and output in a high-pressure production environment

Qualifications

Skills required: 

• Previous experience working in a machine shop environment 

• 2–3 years’ experience as a CNC Setter/Operator (aerospace preferred but not essential) 

• Experience with setting and operating CNC lathes and/or milling machines

• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and standards 

• Confident using inspection and measuring equipment
