Overview of Role
The ServiceNow Solution Architect will report to the Senior Product Manager, and be responsible for leading solution design and guiding delivery across the enterprise ServiceNow platform. This is a hands-on, collaborative role that translates business needs into scalable, reliable solutions aligned with architectural and governance standards.
This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, Security, and Business stakeholders to drive technical decisions, support delivery teams, and ensure solutions are built for long-term maintainability, not just immediate needs.
Key Deliverables include
- Lead solution design for ServiceNow initiatives, balancing business requirements with platform standards and long-term sustainability
- Translate business needs into clear, scalable technical designs and implementation approaches
- Produce and socialize architecture artifacts (e.g., conceptual and logical designs, Architecture Review documentation)
- Guide solutions through governance and architecture review processes
- Partner with Product, Platform, Engineering, Security, and Business teams to define delivery paths and drive alignment
- Provide technical direction and oversight to development/configuration teams, including design reviews and quality guardrails
- Contribute to platform governance through reusable patterns, standards, and documentation
- Facilitate workshops and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ensure solutions are designed for scalability, reliability, maintainability, and operational support
- Support vendor and partner teams by reinforcing design intent and ensuring alignment to quality expectations
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or a combination of education and experience
- 7 years of progressive experience with the ServiceNow platform encompassing some or all ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, SecOps, and custom application development disciplin
- Strong experience designing and delivering solutions on the ServiceNow platform (configuration, data models, workflows, and performance considerations)
- Deep understanding of platform best practices and ability to design for scale, reliability, and long-term sustainability
- Proven experience creating solution designs and guiding delivery from discovery through implementation
- Experience producing architecture artifacts and driving solutions through structured governance processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn ambiguity into clear direction and documentation
- Strong collaborator who builds trust across Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders
- ServiceNow certifications (e.g., CSA, CIS) are considered an asset
- Experience with platform governance, release management, and establishing architectural patterns is an asset
- Experience working with vendors or partners and guiding build teams to deliver against design intent
