Position Summary
Choice Aviation, in partnership with R&R Conner Helicopters, is seeking a Hamilton, Montana-based
Helicopter Pilot to help build and grow a developing helicopter program. This is an opportunity for a pilot who wants to expand beyond a traditional flying role and grow into greater responsibility as a the program develops. 

We are looking for a pilot with solid helicopter experience, instructional capability, and the mindset to help build an operation the right way. This role offers the change to develop experience across multiple mission types, including long-line operations, heli-logging, firefighting, utility work, and mountain/backcountry flying. We are willing to train the right candidate. 

This position is well suited for a pilot looking to broaden their career path, gain new mission experience, and grow toward future operational leadership responsibilities while helping build a helicopter program in western Montana, where the role also offers access to the region's outdoor lifestyle, including hunting, fishing, backpacking, camping, and other mountain activities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a pilot within Choice Aviation’s growing helicopter program
• Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills while delivering high-quality customer service and building positive client relationships.
• Support safe, compliant, and efficient helicopter operations
• Assist in building operational capability in partnership with R&R Conner Helicopters
• Contribute to mission planning, readiness, and day-to-day operational development
• Support training, standardization, and safe operating practices as needed
• Develop experience in specialized helicopter missions, including:
  • Heli-logging
  • Firefighting
  • Utility work
  • Mountain and backcountry operations
  • Scenic Flights
  • Point-to-point charter
• Maintain high standards of safety, judgment, professionalism, and aircraft care
• Grow into increasing operational responsibility as the program expand

Minimum Qualifications

• 1,500+ hours of helicopter flight time
• Rotor wing CFI
• Strong safety mindset, sound judgment, and professional attitude
• Willingness to be based in or relocate to Hamilton, Montana
• Interest in helping build and grow a helicopter operation

Preferred Qualifications

• FAR Part 135 pilot experience
• Experience in Bell 206, UH-1/Bell 205 series, Bell 407, Bell 212/412, Airbus AS350/H125, MD
  500/530, AW119, or similar turbine utility helicopters
• Utility, external load, or long-line exposure
• Interest in developing toward future leadership or chief pilot-type responsibilities
• Desire to expand into new mission profiles and operational roles

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary of $60,000–$80,000 DOE
• Flight pay in addition to salary
